Road
From Ambleside & Windermere - head north on the A592 over Kirkstone Pass through the villages of Patterdale and Glenridding. Follow the lakeshore towards Pooley Bridge. Rampsbeck Country House Hotel is on the left.
From Penrith
Exit the M6 at junction 40 and proceed along the A66 to the next roundabout signposted A592 to Ullswater. After about 4 miles you reach the lake.
Turn right at this T junction and carry on for about a further mile along the lakeshore (western bank) and Rampsbeck is signposted, set down from the road on the left hand side.
Rail
West Coast Main line trains run to Penrith where is is possible to get a taxi to the hotel.
Air
Domestic and international flights fly into Manchester International Airport where connecting trains can bring you up to
Penrith.
